Detailed Technical Description
Structure: AGI brand gland packing is a braided elastic cord that can have a round or square cross-section. It is braided from asbestos threads, which are impregnated with a gluing graphite-containing mixture.
Composition: Additionally, it contains an additive that acts as a corrosion inhibitor. The composition is reflected in its name, as evidenced by the decoding of the abbreviation AGI (Asbestos, Graphite-containing, Inhibited).
Application: AGI gland packing performs several functions: sealing stuffing boxes, protecting equipment parts from contamination , and sealing pumps, compressors, valves, autoclaves, as well as stationary joints. It is heavily used in the gas, oil refining, nuclear, thermal power, chemical, automotive, engineering, food, pharmaceutical industries, utilities, and other sectors requiring reliable seals under high temperatures, pressures, and chemical aggressiveness.
