Structure and Properties

Asbestos yarn, tightly braiding a cotton, viscose, or lavsan thread, allows creating a fabric resistant to mechanical and thermal damages. 

Depending on the density of the asbestos winding on the organic base, a more or less thick thread is obtained. 

The difference in thickness and density between fabrics woven from such threads is also noticeable. 

Characterized by different thicknesses, densities, and percentage content of non-combustible fiber, asbestos fabrics differ in purpose. 

Qualitative differences are reflected in the marking of products ready for sale. 

The purpose of fabrics of this type is high-quality thermal insulation of industrial installations, pipelines with overheated steam and hot gases, manufacturing of seals of complex geometric configuration, and production of asbestos-filled laminates (textolites). 

The use of safe chrysotile asbestos makes it possible to apply fabrics for thermal insulation. 

Resistance to high temperatures, mechanical damage, and physical wear allows sewing workwear (including waterproof) from modified canvases for hot shops and rescue services. 

Special types of this material are sought to be purchased by manufacturers of water electrolysis diaphragms. 

Excellent operational qualities, strength and durability, chemical inertness, and affordable price of the material have made it necessary for many branches of industry. 

The density and percentage of asbestos fiber content comply with state standards. The roll width – 1350 mm and 1550 mm – is sufficient for cutting and manufacturing a wide variety of thermal protection elements, fire-resistant clothing, and other products.

Asbestos cloths are used as a thermal insulation and gasket material. They are used in the manufacture of industrial equipment products, asbestos laminates (asbotextolites), and for sewing heat-resistant clothing. 

Supplied in rolls with a width of 1550 mm.
